Having worked with adults with developmental disabilities and mental retardation caused by childhood infections, I'm appreciative of the risks involved in not vaccinating for MMR. In my opinion, developmental disabilities caused by childhood infections such as measles, mumps, or rubella are just as devastating to the individual and his or her family as autism.
And evidence continues to accumulate bringing the allegations of an MMR-vaccination and autism link into question.
